1. Purpose of SMS Messaging

The ADAAWE Indigenous Business Hub uses SMS (text messaging) as a supplemental communication tool to keep its members informed, engaged, and supported in real time.

ADAAWE will use SMS messaging to:

• Notify members of new and upcoming opportunities, including programs, events, application openings, funding opportunities, and important deadlines.

• Send event reminders for workshops, training sessions, networking meetups, and other relevant member activities.

• Share urgent or time-sensitive updates that are important to ADAAWE members.

SMS will not be used for marketing unrelated to ADAAWE’s core programming or communications, nor will we share or sell member contact information with third parties.

2. Message Frequency

Members can expect to receive 2 to 4 messages per month. Frequency may vary slightly during high-engagement periods (e.g., during incubator launches or application deadlines).

3. Opt-In Process

Members opt in to SMS notifications:

• By providing their mobile number during membership registration or profile updates

• By explicitly selecting SMS communications in their communication preferences

4. Opt-Out Process

Members may opt out of SMS messaging at any time by replying STOP to any message received, or by updating their communication preferences in their member profile. Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier.

5. Privacy & Security

Member privacy is a priority. All SMS communications are managed securely, and member data is protected in accordance with ADAAWE’s Privacy Policy. Phone numbers are stored securely and used exclusively for ADAAWE-related communications.
